Austin Rivers Agrees to 1-Year Timberwolves Contract After Nuggets Stint

Austin Rivers, a former guard for the Denver Nuggets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves have reached a one-year contract agreement, according to Wojnarowski and ESPN's Dave Spahn.

The 29-year-old played for the Nuggets in 2021–202 on a one-year deal.

After being moved from the New York Knicks to the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2020–21 season, it was his first complete season in Denver.

Rivers provided the Nuggets with strong depth off the bench in support of Will Barton.

In 67 games, he shot 41.7 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from outside the arc for a point total of 6.0, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

But as rookie Bones Hyland surged in the second half of the season, averaging 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds

and 4.4 assists in his final 18 regular-season games, the Duke product saw his playing time decline.
