Von Miller may have signed with the Cowboys instead of the Bills.

Miller asked former Denver Broncos colleague DeMarcus Ware during free agency whether the Cowboys were interested in the 11-year veteran.

"I recall Von asking if Dallas was interested. "I'm free." Warsaid. "I said 'What?!'" You're a free agent? Didn't you have another year? No, I'm done [with the Rams],

He told them to call Jerry Jones and see what they want. "Are you trying to deplete the bank account?" Whatcha doin'?"

Ware, who played with Miller in Denver after nine years in Dallas, envisioned a Cowboys defence with Miller, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Micah Parsons. Dan Quinn's defence has 172 sacks in 20 years.

"You'd have a three-headed monster. Miller Von. Parsons, Lawrence. Who's coming? Still necessary. We need an interior-playing defensive end or outside linebacker. Can dip. That sack veteran."

Money hampered a Miller-Cowboys union. The cap-strapped Cowboys released La'el Collins, traded Amari Cooper, and let other players depart in free agency.

Randy Gregory almost inked a five-year, $70 million extension with the Cowboys, but he signed with the Broncos instead.

Miller, a Dallas native who played for Texas A&M, inked a six-year, $120 million deal with the Bills.

"He said, 'I'm trying to come home.'" ware "I dunno if [Cowboys] discussed. I told [Jerry Jones] what we needed on defence, and Buffalo probably took note. He profited."

Miller joins the Bills' top-ranked defence in points and yards allowed last season. Buffalo had the league's highest pressure rate (30.8%). After missing the AFC title game

the Bills had Super Bowl dreams. Buffalo hopes 33-year-old Miller can help Sean McDermott's defence in 2022.
