Tom Hanks shouts at fans to 'back off' as they nearly knock over his wife Rita Wilson

When wild fans nearly knocked over Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson on Wednesday, he unleashed his rage.

As a swarm of happy admirers pushed his wife in a scuffle of over-excited gestures

causing her to lose her feet and wobble away, the Oscar-winning actor became highly enraged and screamed his outrage.

"Stop it!" Wilson exclaimed while on a New York City outing. Hanks grabbed the situation and cried when he heard her voice "What about my lady? 

Get out of here! My wife was knocked out?!" The pair then got into their car and drove away. Some fans could be heard apologising to the actor, according to reports from Page Six. 

For the past few weeks, the iconic actor has been on the road promoting his next Baz Luhrmann film Elvis. The movie has already gotten rave reviews and is expected to be a big smash this year.

Hanks and his wife have been married for 34 years, for those who are unaware. 

Even though Hanks was still married to his college sweetheart Samantha Lewes and had two children at the time, the two met on the set of Bosom Buddies in 2981. 

Chet Hanks, 31, and Truman Hanks, 26, are the couple's two children.
