Over the years, a plethora of music stars has been discovered thanks to televised talent shows like "American Idol," "The Voice," and "Britain's Got Talent."

However, what about the singers they rejected? It turns out that some of them have achieved greater career success than the winners of these shows.

Consider Maren Morris as an example. The Grammy-winning country music performer admitted on Instagram that she tried out for "American Idol" in 2007 but "didn't make it past the first round cattle call."

Bebe Rexha and her mother reportedly waited 12 hours in line to try out for "American Idol." Prior to performing for the judges, she was rejected.

Mickey Guyton apparently went through the Season 8 audition process but was fired just before the live events.

Since then, Guyton has received four Grammy nominations and been asked to sing the national anthem for Super Bowl 56.

When she was 16 years old, she went in for a judge's audition and received a "yes" from all but Simon Cowell, who described her voice as "annoying."

Before the top 24, she was eliminated. Despite having a "annoying" voice, Kelly went on to win two Grammys.

Amber Riley, who was 17 at the time, tried out for "American Idol," but she didn't go past the producers. In 2021, she said to Distractify, "I feel that that was entirely necessary."
