After agreeing to a three-year, $72 million contract extension, DK Metcalf has committed to the Seattle Seahawks for at least a couple more seasons.

Barring a last-minute move, the standout player will remain in the Pacific Northwest through the 2025 season.

Before the new contract officially starts next season, Metcalf will play out the final year of his rookie deal in 2022.

After learning that the two parties had reached an agreement on a new deal, the star wideout had some fun on social media.

God said, Metcalf tweeted, along with a meme that read, "Bring me my money."

During the team's press conference where the trade was formally announced, Metcalf adopted a more sombre demeanour.

As he started to explain the implications of the contract extension, the Seahawks receiver struggled to hold back tears.

During his press conference on July 29, 2022, Metcalf said, "Just coming from Oxford, Mississippi, all the way over here to Seattle is a lengthy voyage."

'Be patient with me, I'm about to get emotional. I truly haven't realised how much I'll be able to do to support my family and so many others back home until now.

And just the fact that this moment is taking place is a blessing when I consider how my neck injury prevented me from ever playing football again.
