Paul Pelosi, husband of House speaker, arrested on DUI charge
Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated on Saturday night.
Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. Saturday
detained around 4 a.m. Sunday on one count of driving under the influence and one count of driving with a BAC of 0.08 or above, according to Napa County records.
Both counts are misdemeanours, and his bond was set at $5,000, according to court records.
Nancy Pelosi's office stated the speaker was not in California at the time of the incident.
In a statement, Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill said, "The Speaker will not be commenting on this private situation that occurred when she was on the East Coast."
Nancy Pelosi got an honorary degree from Brown University on Sunday and delivered the commencement address to the class of 2022.
