DK Metcalf, a wide receiver for the Seahawks, didn't show up to the first day of minicamp on Tuesday.

It looks like the team might fine him for not showing up.

Multiple sources say that Metcalf's absence is not an acceptable reason.

If he misses all three days of minicamp, he could have to pay fines that go up and add up to just over $93,000.

Pete Carroll, the head coach of the Seahawks, did not talk to the media about Metcalf's absence or whether or not the team plans to fine him.

Metcalf had foot surgery earlier this offseason, so if he had been at the team's facility on Tuesday, he would not have been doing any work on the field.

He had been there for voluntary work earlier in the offseason programme, though, and his decision to miss time at this point is likely related to his desire for a contract extension going into his fourth NFL season.

Metcalf and the Seahawks have both been optimistic about making a deal, but Metcalf's absence may mean that things aren't looking as good for him.

Reports say that DK Metcalf's absence from minicamp is unexcused. published first on Pro Football Talk
