Lakers Sign ‘NBA-Ready’ Rookie Guard to New Contract

It is not the NBA game-changing move that many Lakers supporters had hoped to see the franchise make.

However, there were transactions coming from Los Angeles on Sunday, so that has to be significant.

The Lakers announced that 6-foot-5 combo guard Javante McCoy from Boston University

And 6-foot-8 forward Fabian White Jr. from Houston had signed Exhibit 10 contracts with them.

Both players had played on the Lakers' summer league teams.

The contracts listed in Exhibit 10 allow the Lakers to keep the players through training camp

without making a firm commitment and maintain contact with the two players who play for their G-League squad.

In five games with the Lakers at the Las Vegas Summer League, McCoy, 24, averaged 10.2 points and 2.2 rebounds.
