The Western Conference Finals will feature the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche. The paths to the Conference Finals for these two clubs were remarkably different.

Colorado advanced out of the first round by sweeping the Nashville Predators in four games. After that, the St. Louis Blues forced a Game 7 with Colorado, but the Avalanche took care of business.

Edmonton faced a difficult road to the Conference Finals. Before moving on, they battled the LA Kings for seven games in the first round.

They dominated the Calgary Flames in the Battle of Alberta in the second round. The Oilers swept the series with a score of 4-1.

This series could be the peak, regardless of how the rest of the playoffs go.

The Avalanche have won the regular season three years in a row but have yet to get to the second round of the playoffs.

Connor McDavid, on the other hand, has been the finest player in the NHL since his arrival. His squad is now only four wins away from reaching the Stanley Cup Finals.
