After Dave McCormick conceded on June 3, celebrity television doctor Mehmet Oz won the Pennsylvania Senate Primary race.

"We were so close," McCormick said on Friday, adding that he called Oz to congratulate him on winning the race and assure him that he had his entire support.

"I am incredibly appreciative for (McCormick's) vow of support in the fall election," Oz tweeted late Friday. We all want a better future for Pennsylvania and America."

"Now that our primary is done, we will ensure that this U.S. Senate seat does not fall into the hands of John Fetterman's extremist left." For the next five months

 I look forward to campaigning in every corner of the Commonwealth in order to gain the support of every Pennsylvanian."

After the Associated Press predicted Fetterman's victory on election night, Oz will face Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman in the November general election.
