Cowboys Acquire All-Pro in ‘Blockbuster’ Trade Proposal

The Dallas Cowboys may complete a "blockbuster" trade.

One of the "blockbuster" trade possibilities listed by Bleacher Report's

Maurice Moton has the Cowboys trading a 2023 second-round draught pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for safety Jessie Bates III.

Moton contends that the proposal is worthwhile to investigate because Bates is dissatisfied with his contract status in Cincinnati and the Cowboys' need for reliable safety.

According to Moton, the Cincinnati Bengals have franchise-tagged Jessie Bates III, but they and the fifth-year safety are currently at odds over money.

The Dallas Cowboys may be interested in Bates if the Bengals trade him because they have a moderate need at the position and $22.5 million in cap space.

To effectuate the move, Bates would have to agree to the franchise tag, but if the Cowboys agree to pay him

he shouldn't have any problems joining another playoff-caliber club that just won its division.
