He has been a member of the Atlanta Hawks for the previous two years, and in 2021 he was instrumental in the team's run to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Hawks advanced to the NBA Playoffs' first round by winning the play-in tournament and securing the eighth seed, but they were defeated by the Miami Heat there.

The Hawks scored 11.7 points on 38.1 percent shooting from outside the arc in 66 regular season games last year.

He was a veteran who was generally effective throughout his time in Atlanta, and the Celtics are sure to benefit much from his presence.

They just fell to the Golden State Warriors in six games after making it to the NBA Finals last season.
