Bogdan Bogdanovic has been ruled out of the EuroBasket 2022 competition.

Dragan Radovanovic, the Serbian national team doctor, confirmed what was widely expected

Bogdan Bogdanovic would be forced to miss the 2022 EuroBasket in September.

the recuperation time is expected to be at least three months.

"Our national team member [Bogdanovic] had surgery on his right knee two or three weeks ago, and recuperation takes time, not very short, at least three months," he said.

"We hear from one other virtually every day, and the procedure went off without a hitch in a California clinic." He will stay in the United States for another month before returning to Serbia, to Belgrade."

The FIBA EuroBasket begins on September 1st, while Bogdanovic is still recovering from surgery and will have a few weeks to prepare for the start of the NBA season with the Atlanta Hawks in 2022-23.

Bogdanovic's absence adds to Svetislav Pesic's woes and Serbia's heavy summer schedule, with back-to-back NBA MVP Nikola Jokic's participation also in doubt.
